Wimsener Höhle (Friedrichshöhle) – Wimsen Cave
Wimsen cave is one of the main attractions of the Geopark of the Swabian Jura. It is also known as Friedrichs cave and it is a natural monument, representing the only “active” water cave in Germany named after the Elector of Wurttemberg Friedrich.
The cave is explored on a length of 730m and can be visited by boat on a length of 70m. Competent experts will explain you the genesis, history and geology of Wimsen cave and the whole Swabian Jura as well as the quite “young” history of the historic property of Wimsen.
Bärenhöhle und Glashöhle (Bear Cave and Glass Cave) at the Glass valley
Bettelmannshöhle at the Lauter valley – just opposite of the castle of Derneck.
Ochsenlöcher (Ox holes) – smaller and larger holes which can be found in the limestone cliffs along the Lauter river close to the village of Anhausen.
Gerberhöhle (Tanner cave) next to Anhausen (opened from May to October) is a shelter for bats in winter time.
